یخ ساز صنعتی دستگاهی است که آب ورودی را با استفاده از سیستم سرمایش به یخ در حجم بالا تبدیل می کند. یخهای تولیدی میتواند به شکلهای پودری، حبه ای، قالبی و پولکی یا سکه ای باشد. انواع مدلهای یخساز صنعتی در تالارهای پذیرایی، هتلها و رستورانها، آشپزخانه کارخانجات صنعتی و…، کاربردهای فراوانی دارند.
صنعتی ترین دستگاه یخساز، مدل قالبی است که به آنها کارخانه یخ گفته می شود و توانایی دارد در هر 12ساعت تا 10 تن یخ بصورت قالبهای 12.5 و 25 کیلویی تولید نماید.

در واقع با استفاده از دستگاه‌های بزرگ تولید یخ، در کمترین زمان ممکن، بیشترین مقدار یخ تولید می‌شود؛ آن هم با بالاترین میزان راندمان کاری و صرف انرژی بسیار کم.
